"The Season of Infidelity" is a feature film directed by Hiroki Ryuichi, starring Ren Osugi and Hoshi Haruko. The film was released in Japan on September 2, 2000

This film is adapted from the autobiographical novel of the same name by Japanese sensual novelist Dankiroku. It tells the story of SM novelist Kurosaki discovering that his wife After Shizuko and his assistant Kawada committed adultery, he chose to continue to instigate his assistant to seduce and abuse his wife, and used this as the material for the story.

Writer Kurosaki (played by Ren Osugi) devotes himself to writing SM novels, but ignores his wife Shizuko (played by Hoshi Haruko) Care and companionship. One day, Shizuko and Kurosaki's assistant Kawada (played by Murakami Jun) had an extramarital affair because of drunkenness, and Shizuko also voluntarily asked to be abused by Kawada. When Kurosaki learned of this fact, he felt angry and jealous, but he was inspired to create in the depths of his heart. He continued to instigate Kawada to seduce and abuse Shizuko, using these experiences as creative material in his novels. In the end, Kurosaki's work was published, and his wife chose to leave him.

"The Season of Infidelity" shows the complexity of human nature and the boundary of desire with a vivid plot. Kurosaki explores the delicate relationship between power, desire and creation through his portrayal of marital betrayal and SM's lust. The film is thought-provoking, allowing the audience to think about the dark side of human nature and the boundaries of morality.
