"Going Farther" is a road movie depicting the hero and heroine traveling from Tokyo to Hokkaido. The film tells the story of Sayoko, who has been married for five years, is considering divorcing her husband and starting to look for a place to live after the divorce. In the process, she got acquainted with Yang Ping who works in a real estate company. As the two looked at the house together, they gradually developed a sense of intimacy with each other

However, in Sayoko's observation, she felt that Yohei still had unresolved feelings for his wife Mitsuko who disappeared three years ago. Sayoko decided to encourage Yohei to embark on a journey to find photons together.

The journey of Sayoko and Yohei started from Tokyo and extended all the way to Hokkaido. The scenery along the way and the characters encountered gradually changed the mood of the two.
