《夺冠》是由中宣部与国家体育总局联合拍摄，改编自中国国家女子排球队的真实事件，影片由一线明星巩俐等人主演。它讲述的是中国女排顽强拼搏，克服万难，为国争光的奋斗历程。
2016年8月22日，里约热内卢，时隔12年后，中国女排再度出战奥运决赛。那一刻，全国人民都屏住了呼吸，他们的脑海里浮现出了中国几代排球女将三十余年的沉浮场景。
在吴教练的有效领导下，女排姑娘们经过严苛的训练，终于帮中国赢回了世界杯冠军，这来之不易来荣誉让国人们为之振奋。
2008年，在中国举办的奥运会上，陈教练率领的中国女排败给了美国队，彼时美国队的主教练是郎平（巩俐饰演），最终仅夺季军。
2013年，郎平任接受中国国家队邀请，就任中国女排主教练，在她的建议下，国家对对女排体制内的弊端进行了针对性的改革，最终中国女排在2016年里约的奥运会上，终获冠军。
