火星没事主要是讲主人公罗秉文为了完成太太的遗愿，领养一个小男孩，取名叫没事，没事从小比较古灵精怪，在5岁时突然说自己是火星人，使罗秉文感觉非常的搞笑，在家与没事经历一番周旋之后，到公司还要与其他同事过招。此时罗秉文的太太已经过世5年，让他唯一心动的人就是没事的幼儿园老师陈雨，可没事在幼儿园胡作非为，带着其他小朋友集体失踪，用恶搞的方式捉弄幼儿园老师陈雨，经历几个回合之后，让罗秉文终于相信没事是火星人，连没事周边的幼儿园老师等人都知道这个秘密。然后没事乱用超能力，与自己的父亲罗秉文闹矛盾，离家出走。此时财神一直在布置自己的计划，最终罗秉文排除所有的危险与没事重新生活在一起，将财神的计划破灭，在最后与幼儿园老师陈雨、没事等人幸福的生活
