《利维坦》是一部在2014年5月23日戛纳电影节上映的剧情片，影片时长140分钟，是在俄罗斯拍摄的，这部影片讲述的是在巴伦支海旁边的一个小村里面，也极有可能在任何一个具有政治利益和个人利益冲突，并且事先就知道了是谁会取得胜利的国家。在这个地方，一个十分贪婪的市长看上了尼古拉一家所居住的屋子，并且想要白白的战令那块土地，其实就是强盗。这个贪得无厌的市长的行为十分粗暴，不过一切都在她的布局之下，从法院再到警察关，他都知道怎么样才能让不顺从他的人服从他。这部影片在上映之后就取得了第87届奥斯卡金像奖最佳外语片提名和第67届戛纳电影节金棕榈奖提名，以及第72届金球奖最佳外语片。影片的剧情十分好看，讽刺了当时的宗教以及当时的政府体制
