The story takes place in Berkeley, Mark O'Brien (John Hax ) is a local poet and journalist. Suffering from polio since childhood, he can only lie flat and rely on a respirator to maintain his life. Despite the physical challenges, Mark was charming and intelligent. Since he also has normal sexual needs, he longs for the company of the opposite sex around him. Therefore, at the age of 38, he decided to bid farewell to being a virgin, hoping to find someone to satisfy his completeness in life. Mark needs professional care day and night. After much deliberation, he fires the grumpy caretaker he didn't like before and hires the lovely young Amanda (Annika Marks) instead.
