"Lust and Soul" is a film produced by Hong Kong United Film Co., Ltd. in 1993. Ma An is the director and screenwriter, and Liu Shaojun and Charlie Cao starred. The film tells a bleak and touching story of a female ghost wandering in order to repay her kindness. The background of the story is set on the Central Plains Ghost Festival. According to legend, the gate of ghosts opens on this day, and ghosts from all walks of life come to the world to find their benefactors and resolve their grievances
The main plot of the film revolves around Song, a wealthy Thai overseas Chinese, and his only daughter. Song hoped to continue the incense lamp, but her daughter could not. In order to solve this problem, he invited Li Shi, a strange man from China, hoping to obtain an "ancient negative bottle" to cast spells with the existing "ancient negative bottle" to make his daughter rejuvenate. However, in the process of obtaining the ancient bottle, a series of mistakes occurred, causing the sisters-in-law of the Yang family to hurt their husbands one after another. At the same time, Li has always been interested in Song's daughter, but because he could not get the real ancient bottle, Song disrespected him, and found that his daughter's virginity had been destroyed by her boyfriend, so he angrily harmed her.
