"Yamamoto Fifty-Six" is a Japanese film directed by Seiji Maruyama and starring Toshiro Mifune and Yuzo Kayama. The film tells the story of Japanese naval general Yamamoto Fifty-Six's plan to launch an aggressive war, and his tragic ending when he was eventually killed. In September 1940, Yamamoto Fifty-Six was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Japanese Combined Fleet, and received orders to start war against the United States, Britain, the Netherlands and other countries.
