The film tells the story of a new "Legend of the White Snake" in modern Britain. The white snake Bai Suzhen (played by Chen Beiqi) was suppressed by the monk Fahai (played by Yang Zelin) at the bottom of the Leifeng Pagoda for nearly a thousand years, but finally managed to escape and came to the modern city to find her lover Xu Xian (played by Fu Weiqi) and her sister-in-law.
