这部影片主要简述了一个名叫莎兰德的女黑客和一个名叫布隆维斯特的记者，来到了一个分别由网络罪犯，政府特工以及国际间谍等不同群体所组成的一个“地下世界”来一同寻找真实情况的故事
影片中莎兰德作为黑客接受了一个神秘任务，让她前往一个由三个不同群体组成的“地下世界”中来调查一些事情。这个比较神秘的组织，为了掩盖真实的情况，杀掉了很多人。不过随着调查不断获取新线索，莎兰德也不小心走入了别人的陷阱中，她的行踪一览无余。
因为调查，莎兰德也卷进此事中，在寻求真相的过程中危险重重，正在洗澡的莎兰德，突然身边发生了爆炸事件，差点就丢掉了性命，逃过这次的劫难之后，又在路上被神秘机车追赶，不过她的车技也非常不错，又成功的躲避了暗杀。
