万文芳是一名著名歌星，在封闭的化妆间遇到刺杀，在场的只有吉米·托马斯，律师端木兰接受委托称为吉米的辩护律师为几米做五证辩护，在法庭上与该案检察官无证展开，激烈争辩，真相层层被揭露。知情人爆料，吉米托马斯是万文芳18年前遗弃的私生子，将这起案件性质变成弑母案。真相扑朔迷离，随着本案的不断进行之中，关键证人万文芳经纪人田景程进入案情有了大的转变。
吉米托马斯在此之前已经了解自己是万文芳的私生子，但渴望母爱的托马斯只能通过工作的方式接触自己的母亲，这次自己母亲被暗杀，自己也成为了案件最大的嫌疑人，一系列的故事也由此展开。
