"Bao Qingtian: Seven Heroes and Five Righteousness" is a TV series produced by Dalian Tiange Media Co., Ltd., Xi'an Tiancheng An ancient costume TV series jointly produced by Film and Television Culture Co., Ltd. and Anhui TV Station. The play is co-directed by Chen Lie, Tang Hao, and Wang Qisheng, written by Qu Wei and Song Guanyi, and starred by many powerful actors such as Jin Chaoqun, Fan Hongxuan, He Jiajin, Jiang Hongen, and Wang Shasha. The play tells the legendary story of Bao Zheng, an upright official in the Northern Song Dynasty. It premiered on Anhui Satellite TV on January 4, 2011.
The story begins at the moment when Bao Zheng became a Jinshi. He refused to leave home to serve as an official because his affairs were too high. It was not until his parents died one after another that he decided to embark on an official career. When he first took office in Dingyuan County, he reformed the bad rules of the yamen and set up a drum for complaining, allowing the people to beat the drum to appeal for grievances. During his tenure, he vigorously rectified lawsuits to prevent the people from being treated unfairly, so the people admired him and respected him as "Bao Qingtian".
Later, Bao Zheng was promoted to the prefect of Kaifeng, when Chenzhou suffered Floods and droughts lead to widespread famine. Pang Yu'an Lehou took advantage of the disaster relief opportunity to detain the people's money without authorization, and the people suffered unspeakably. After the news reached the capital, all the ministers wrote to ask for Pang Yu's crimes to be investigated. Emperor Renzong sent Bao Zheng as an imperial envoy for disaster relief, and granted him the privilege of beheading first and playing later, and giving him three guillotines, namely dragon, tiger and dog.
