铳墓整个动画片的基调非常的深沉，讲述了黑社会之间的故事，可以看做11部灰暗系列的动画，采用了倒叙的手法，前半部分讲述了除了第一话之外都是男角色的回忆，而后半部分则讲述了男角色的复仇之路。动画制作非常的精美，但整个故事却笼罩在阴郁的色调中，故事性非常的强，又像是一部电影。
