The story takes place a few days before Christmas, and the protagonist of the story is Matthias, who quit his job in Germany and returned to Transit The multi-ethnic hometown of Vania. He is worried about his son Rudi who grew up without him, and he wants to see his ex-girlfriend Csilla again. He tries to get more involved in his son's education because his biological mother, Ana, has been taking care of him for too long. In addition, he also wanted to help his son overcome his inner anxiety. The tranquility of this small community is disturbed when the factory managed by Csilla decides to recruit several foreign workers. Adults in the community begin to feel anxious and restless. These impacts range from individuals to families to entire communities. Frustration, conflict and passion resurface, shattering the semblance of community peace. The protagonist of the story complains that the migrant workers have problems in work and language, and also discovers the local residents’ resistance and discrimination against the migrant population. The whole incident has loosened friendships in the community and exposed social divisions and people's mindsets.
