《河神2》是一部奇幻、探案题材改编自小说《河神：鬼水怪谈》的连续剧。该剧继续承接第一部的故事。郭得友是伍河捞尸队队长，人称“小河神”。丁卯则是漕运商会现任会长。在第一不的最厚郭得友假意加入魔古道，阻止了魔古道的阴谋，可炸弹还是发生了爆炸，天津卫的河流也因此被污染了，郭得友也被视作魔古道余孽。郭得友、丁卯两个人便开始了追查二水之源洗刷冤屈的探索。中间二人携手破获了一桩桩案件，但事情也变得有些不对劲。事情的真相也慢慢浮出水面，郭得友也终于意识到之前的所有案件彼此之间都紧密联系。这一切都是为了“九牛二虎一鸡”这最大的案件做铺垫。郭得友和丁卯继续追寻线索，他们最后到底能否查找出案件的真相
