《花开时节》讲述了原本要过生日的男主。在被父母询问想要什么生日礼物时，说出自己想要一把吉他，但是在生日当天，男主收到了两把吉他的情节。父母各自不约而同准备的吉他，也引发了父母之间的矛盾，父亲责怪母亲不懂事乱花钱，把两把吉他全部砸坏，两人的争吵持续到了晚上
想要寻求平静的男主来到自己的屋内，发现母亲留下的一张纸条，但是他内心留下的伤疤依然不能被抚平，怀着悲伤的心情，男主想要把自己谱好的曲子送给女主。当时的女主正准备收拾行李离开这个地方，男主心中五味杂陈，回到家中继续对待父亲的暴脾气，男主再也忍耐不了，开始收拾行李准备离家出走。
在父亲的阻拦下，男主没能成功离开，他将手机不小心砸到了家中的钢琴。这让男主有了发挥自己音乐天赋的机会，从此受到大众的青睐。
