"Jiangnan Wife" is a movie about getting rid of poverty and pursuing happiness. In the story, Ah Ying is a girl who longs to leave her poverty-stricken life and live in Jiangnan. She meets Man-soo by accident and is introduced to her friend's son Tae-min. Shortly after they started dating, the lease on the house Ah Ying lived in was terminated, a few months before they were due to get married
However, Aying gradually found that she liked Manxiu who really cared about her more than Taemin who just scolded her every day. Manxiu gives Ah Ying warmth and support, helps her overcome difficulties and inspires her inner strength. Ah Ying realizes that wealth is not her only goal in pursuit of happiness, but true emotion and love.
"Jiangnan Daughter-in-law" explores the choices and values that people face in the pursuit of happiness through Aying's story. The film presents the contrast between rich and poor, and expresses people's longing for someone who truly cares and understands them.
