"Review Day" is a drama-type movie directed by Alleghens Bratton, Jay Remy Pope, Raul Castillo, Bokeem Woodbine and Gabrielle Union star. The film will be released in Europe and America in 2022.
The story follows young black gay Ellis French in order to get Mother's approval, the story of choosing to enter the military camp to experience growth. Ellis faces discrimination and pressure from society, even his own mother does not agree with his sexual orientation and rejects him. After being kicked out of his home, he began to live a nomadic life. In order to prove his worth, Ellis decided to join the army, hoping to gain social acceptance by becoming a soldier.
However, the environment in the military is equally challenging and stressful. Boot camp is a demanding environment, full of hardships and trials. Despite the hardships and discrimination Ellis faces, he perseveres because he believes he can find warmth and acceptance in the military that hurts him less than his mother.
"Review Day" triggers the audience's desire for sex through Ellis' growth story Orientation and reflections on social identity. The film shows a young man's inner struggle and growth process of how to persist in himself and move forward bravely in the face of pressure and difficulties.
