The movie "Leah" won the 2011 Cannes Film Festival Independent Film Promotion Association ACID Award, and participated in the Chicago Film Festival and Sweden Gothenburg Film Festival. The film revolves around the protagonist Leia. She is faced with her father having a new woman and sister, and in order to realize her dream, she must face the difficult choice between family responsibilities and personal dreams
Leia's father had a new woman and gave birth to a younger sister, which made her take on the responsibility of taking care of her grandma since she was a child. Grandma's Alzheimer's disease requires Leia's company and care, but Leia has a dream deep in her heart, which is to study at the famous Sciences Po in Paris. In order to realize her dream, she had to place her grandma in a nursing home in Le Havre to pay for her grandma's living in a better room and her own tuition.
In order to solve financial problems, Leia became a part-time nightclub bartender, dancing at night to earn money. She shuttled between Le Havre and Paris, suffering physical and mental exhaustion and distress. However, she steadfastly pursues her dream, hoping to change her destiny by studying political science.
