《龙族》讲述的是主人公在去往芝加哥求学之后与龙族之间发生的惊险故事。路明非是一个普通的高中毕业生，为了去向往更好的生活，申请了国外大学的offer，当路明非对国外大学不再抱有期望的时候收到了来自卡塞尔学院的邀请。在拿到邀请函之后，路明非背上行囊，坐上了去往芝加哥的列车。要知道召唤路明非的卡塞尔学院是为了培养屠龙勇士而施展魔法的学院。在这个学院的角落当中，充斥着搞笑的同学，近乎于疯狂的老师和奇怪的故事。刚刚进入学院的路明非身边就发生了多种怪事，很多种疑虑都在路明非的心中产生，为了成为真正的屠龙勇士，路明非逐渐适应卡塞尔学院的生活。与此同时，在地狱的龙族也被唤醒，即将和卡塞尔学院展开一场不可避免的争夺大战。
