在10年前世界几乎处于被毁灭的灾难当中，在当时卫宫士郎被魔术师卫宫切嗣救出，成为魔术师卫宫切嗣的养子。10年过后，卫宫士郎为了履行自己与养父之间的约定，成为正义的伙伴，每天不断的坚持对魔术练习，然而意外的一天，卫宫士郎卷入称为圣杯战争的魔术师之间的对决，对决规则是每一位魔术师必须与一位英灵结成契约，圣杯战争其实就是获得胜利者，可以通过圣杯来实现任何的愿望，所以一共7位魔术师与7位英灵一同加入对决厮杀中。其实卫宫士郎一直都知道是10年前那场灾难导致圣杯战争的开启，为了避免灾难再一次降临世间，决定与自己的英灵一同参与圣杯战争。在充满危险的圣杯战争之中，却有人暗藏杀机，使这场战争开始逐渐变得非常的混乱。
