传说金色花朵不仅可以永葆青春还能治疗各种疾病。女巫Gothel就是靠着这朵金色的花朵保持青春。而国王的妻子王后得了重病，国王知道金色花朵的事情后就派人寻找金色花朵给王后治病。王后病愈后生下了一个一头金发的小女孩Rapunzel。女巫Gothel发现这个小女孩金色的头发拥有和金色花朵同样的功效。为了永葆青春女巫Gothel悄悄地偷走了Rapunzel，并把她一个人关了起来。多年以后小女孩Rapunzel已经18岁了，她太想出去外面看看了，看看外面的世界。但是女巫Gothel为了她那金色头发，始终不愿意让Rapunzel出去怕发生意外。突然有一天晚上窃贼Flynn逃跑到了森林当中，来到了关着Rapunzel的高塔，最后Rapunzel通过Flynn的帮助逃离女巫，并且两人也结婚了。
