电影《扑克王》以澳门赌场为背景，讲述了身份悬殊的两个男人在扑克桌上角逐扑克王的故事。江湖出身的卓一与赌场大亨之子张人杰，一个拥有权力和钱财，一个靠智慧和勇气赢得尊重。他们之间的较量由陌生到了解，由了解到互相支持，最后再到为了赌业王国而在赌桌上决一死战的过程，充满了不同身份的人之间相互理解和支持的情感转变。
电影中，张人杰是个不爱社交，沉迷于网上扑克的宅男。为了不接手父亲的赌场，他远走加拿大，然而在卓一的威逼利诱下，他回到澳门，成为基金管理人。然而，卓一并不满足于此，还想掌握赌场的实际控制权，于是与张人杰之间的矛盾和对立就此展开。
而当张人杰认识到自己的扑克技术有限时，他开始刻苦练习，还结交了况小姐，一位名门千金，来帮助自己备战扑克王大赛。在比赛过程中，张人杰渐渐变得自信和勇敢，最终与卓一一决胜负。尽管赢得了比赛，但张人杰仍然不忘初心，选择将赌业王国让给卓一，走上自己独立的道路。

"Poker King" is a comedy film produced by Shangpin Film Co., Ltd., co-directed by Chen Qingjia and Qin Xiaozhen, Gu Tianle, Liu Qingyun, He Chaoyi, Stephy Tang, Cherrie Ying and other actors lead the starring roles. The film was released in Hong Kong, China on October 22, 2009
The story takes place in Macau, a casino known as the Las Vegas of the East. The fate of the casino prince Zhang Renjie (played by Gu Tianle) is different. Zhuo Yi (Liu Qingyun) complained that Zhang Renjie escaped from inheriting his father's business and left the casino and went to Canada to find him back.
Zhang Renjie is obsessed with online poker, like an otaku, with neither understanding of the world nor the ability to run a casino. In order to prevent the gambling kingdom from being destroyed by Zhang Renjie, Zhuo Yi took over the casino as a fund manager according to Zhang's father's will.
After leaving the casino, Zhang Renjie won every casino in Macau with the help of the lucky girl's smile. In the end, he cooperated with Zhuoyi's opponent, Miss Kuang, and received special training from Miss Kuang to prepare for the Poker King competition. Zhang Renjie, who used to be a bad gambler, turned out to be reborn and challenged Zhuo Yi to resolve the grievances between the two with the honor of the Poker King Tournament, and take back the gambling kingdom left by his father.
