农村小伙楚中天从小就有一个愿望，长大后娶一个城里媳妇。因为他上学期间成绩不好，连自己的名字都被写成“林蛋大”遭人笑话，想找个城里媳妇改变基因。
长大后，他就带着自己的全部积蓄进了城。在路上碰到了一位大叔。这位大叔是个城里人，名叫朱月坡，工于心计。作为城市中产的大叔怎么可能看得起这个邋里邋遢又长得不帅的农村小伙呢？对他一直是爱理不理。一进城二人就各奔东西了。朱月坡在公司打电话向亲朋好友借钱，因为他家孩子要求国外读书，需要交15万保证金。但是钱不但没借到，更悲催的事情也发生了，朱月坡被公司裁掉了。
在朱月坡四处借钱的时候，又碰到了楚中天。朱月坡本是对楚中天一脸的嫌弃，但听说他有15万后，立刻改变了看法，热情招呼，并张罗着给他相亲，还传授他人生秘诀……在朱月坡的精心调教下，楚中天能否找到一个城里媳妇呢。
