The Familiar Stranger is an emotional, comedy directed by Dave Franco. The film follows workaholic Elle (Brie) who spends an evening with ex-boyfriend Sean (Ellis) on her way home to visit her dad, reminiscing about her past and beginning to question her choices and who she has become. Along the way, Elle meets Cassidy (Clemens), a young woman who brings Elle back to her own past, and the two strike a chord. With Cassidy's help, Elle begins to re-examine her life and begins to consider changes. In the process, her relationship with Cassidy became more and more intimate, but she also discovered that Cassidy might be hiding some secrets. As the story progresses, she gradually discovers that Cassidy is not who she imagined

"Familiar Strangers" explores the growth and self-awareness of contemporary women by telling Elle's story. The film uses methods such as memory and psychological description to show the protagonist's inner struggle and changes, as well as various difficulties and challenges faced by women in modern society. The performance of the film's actors is also very good. Bree and Clemens' acting skills are superb, allowing the audience to deeply feel the emotional changes of the two heroines. At the same time, Jay Ellis' excellent performance also adds a lot to the film.
