《我的个神啊》这部影片主要讲述的就是外星人在地球上的奇幻旅行，对印度的文化参与了深刻的探讨
在某一天一个带着对人类研究目的，而来到地球的外星人，落入了地球的印度，因为能够让他回家的飞船遥控器丢失而无法和同伴联系，而被迫留在沙漠中的故事。在旅途的过程中，主人公遇到了失恋的女记者。与其相识刚开始，女记者认为男主在胡言乱语，但之后所发生的各种奇异事件，逐渐让女记者相信他的所言。
在此之后，女记者便帮助男主寻找重新返回飞船的遥控器，踏上了寻神的道路，试图寻找回家的方法。随着时间的不断推移，男主也逐渐爱上了勇敢善良的女记者，可惜女记者依然深爱着自己的前男友。男主也暂时放下了心中的情感，帮助女记者和前男友破镜重圆。
