《相声有新人》是一个相声表演舞台，节目总共分为七个阶段，第一个阶段是全世界的海选阶段，这65组相声新人可以自行选择导师，最终大多数人选择了郭德纲，这65组选手要争夺导师手中的召唤师令牌，拿到令牌才可以晋级到下一个阶段，第二个阶段是Battle阶段，这个阶段每一个选手都要当着导师的面表演，导师会根据选手的表现决定这个选手是晋级还是淘汰，被淘汰的选手将会被回收召唤师令牌给其他具有实力的选手，下一个阶段就是1对1环节，这个阶段就决定出全国的10强选手，选手之间可以互相挑选对手，接下来的环节是团队战，两个导师各自带领自己的团队夺取分数，然后会有嘉宾给这些选手助阵，最终决定出参加半决赛的选手，直到决定出最终的冠军归属
