"Little Sheldon Season 1" is a comedy launched by CBS. Explosion, starring Sheldon Cooper, tells the story of his life at home and school in East Texas as a 9-year-old. This spin-off drama has been highly anticipated since it was announced and is now scheduled to air in 2017-18.
Unlike the adult Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, Little Sheldon "Malcolm in the Family" focuses on his childhood, presented in the single-camera family comedy style of "Malcolm in the Family." Viewers will get a glimpse into Sheldon's family, school and life at the age of 9. The show is written and executive produced by "The Big Bang Theory" creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, Steve Molaro and Todd Spiewak are also executive producers, and Jim Parsons, who played Sheldon in the original show, also participated in the production.
In the past episodes, we learned that Sheldon's family members include brother George , fraternal twin sister Missy, religious mother Mary Cooper, and alcoholic father George Cooper. In addition, Sheldon has a grandmother (Meemaw) and a grandfather (Pop Pop), but the grandfather died when Sheldon was 5 years old.
The play is directed by Jon Favreau, and the younger version of Sheldon Cooper is played by Iain Armitage , Zoe Perry plays his mother Mary Cooper, Lance Barber plays Sheldon's father, and Sheldon's siblings (or sisters) are played by Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan, while the grandmother is played by Annie Potts.
