Small Town Suspicious Season 1 is a story set in a quiet Dorset community. The plot begins with the police arriving in this supposedly peaceful neighborhood to investigate the tragic and mysterious death of an 11-year-old boy, Danny. However, this is only the beginning of the plot, and a series of shocking events ensues, including the trial of the murderer, the reopening of the old case, and the case that happened again in the small town three years later
The protagonist of the story is Inspector Alec Hardy, played by David Tennant. Due to the investigation error in the previous case, Alec's reputation was damaged, and he suffered from mental and physical torture, so he came to the seaside town of Guangjiao. Meanwhile, Detective Allie Miller (Olivia Colman) has just returned from vacation only to find that Hardy has taken her rightful job. Ellie is forced to cooperate with Hardy as she investigates Danny's death.
Alec walked to the scene of the crime, praying in his heart that no more children would die. And Allie found in pain that the deceased was her son Tom's best friend, that is, her neighbors Mark and Beth's youngest son Danny. As Mark and Beth agonize over their son's tragedy, the town mourns the loss of a familiar face and fears for the children's safety.
Ellie's husband Joe (Matthew Gravel) is a stay-at-home husband who helps his son Tom through the loss. Emotionally turbulent times for friends. In addition, Ollie (Jonathan Bailey), a local reporter, is Ellie's nephew. He longed to leave this small town and work for a bigger newspaper.
