"Election" is a Hong Kong social TV series broadcast in 2014, directed by Huang Guoqiang, edited and reviewed by Mak Shilong, Guo Yicai, Huang Weiqiang, written by Ye Yuying, starring Liao Qizhi, Li Xinjie, Wang Zongyao and others.

Taking Hong Kong’s political elections as the background, this drama shows the struggles and struggles of people from all walks of life, and reveals the entangled and complex relationship between power, interests and human nature.

The protagonist of the story, Ye Qing (played by Li Xinjie), is a selfless and fair-minded woman. Her husband Wei Wenxuan was successfully elected as the Chief Executive in 2017, but unfortunately died in a traffic accident on the way to the polling station. Encouraged by her husband's mission, Ye Qing decided to take an active part in the civic movement, and decided to participate in the 2022 chief executive election, hoping to continue to promote social reform and progress.

However, social reality is not all smooth sailing. Ye Qing faced internal competition and attacks from her opponent Song Manshan (played by Liao Qizhi) in the process of running for the chief executive. She has gone through many obstacles and challenges, and found herself in a complicated situation, unable to easily distinguish friend from foe.

In the play, not only the complexity of political elections is shown, but also the intertwining of love and hate between characters and the conflict between human nature and self-interest. These complicated relationships are just the epitome of common existence in the real society, making the whole TV series closer to the life and emotions of the audience.
