"Puppel of Chimney Town" is a Japanese anime film directed by Yusuke Hirota and starring Mana Ashida and Masataka Kubota. It will be released on December 25, 2020.

This anime is based on a best-selling picture book curated by renowned comedian and picture book author Ryohiro Nishino. The background of the story is set in a town full of chimneys and smog, and the starry sky cannot be seen in the whole town due to industrial pollution.

The protagonist, Rubich, is a teenager living in this smoky town. In his world, everything looks gray, without light and hope. However, one day, he accidentally met a mysterious girl named Pupper.

Puppel is called "garbage man", she is covered with all kinds of waste and garbage. However, unlike Rubich's imagination, Pupel is a being with magical powers and wisdom. She has the ability to make flowers bloom, clear rivers, and transform waste into useful items.

During getting along with Pupper, Rubić gradually discovered that this seemingly bad town actually contained infinite possibilities. Together, they changed the fate of the town and restored light and hope to Chimney Town.

This anime is not only an interesting adventure story, but also a work with profound meaning. It tells us that even though life is full of challenges and difficulties, as long as we have courage and wisdom, we can create miracles and change reality.
