"The Call of the Far Mountain" is a Japanese drama film produced in 1980, directed by Yoji Yamada, with main actors Including Takakura Ken, Baisho Chieko, Yoshioka Hidetaka and Suzuki Mizuho. The film has been praised for its deep emotional expression and excellent performances.

The story takes place in a small village in northern Japan called "Toyama" . The villagers live a peaceful and simple life, relying on the nearby distant mountains for their livelihood.
