Saving the Cinema is a drama starring Samantha Morton, Tom Felton, Starring Jonathan Pryce and Adil Akhtar, among others, Sara Sugarman directs. Based on a story by Welsh author Lorraine King, the film tells the true story of Liz Evans.

Liz Evans is a hairdresser in Carmarthen, Wales , and also the manager of a youth theater. In 1993, she launched a campaign to save the Lyric Theater from its closure. During this difficult process, she worked with the then mayor of Carmarthen, Richard Goodrich (changed to the local councilor in the film), and jointly won the support of Steven Spielberg.

Through collaboration with local councilors and Steven Spielberg, Leeds have successfully secured the rights to host a special premiere event for Jurassic Park. This move not only brought valuable opportunities to the theater, but also injected new hope and vitality into the entire community. The story of "Save the Cinema" is based on real events.
