大卫和艾米刚刚经历了丧子之痛，两人已经准备在离婚之前进行一个分手旅行，纪念他们最后的时光。晚上，大卫为了抄近道拐进了一个偏僻的小路上，却没想到车子出现故障。突然出现一个年轻人帮助他们，但是问题依旧没有解决，两人不得已只好找一家旅馆休息
这个汽车旅馆十分老旧，但是周围没有其他选择的两人只好硬着头皮进去，听到值班室传出了令人惊悚的尖叫声，值班人员骂骂咧咧的关闭了电视录像，把大卫夫妻送到了拐角的房间，房间的设施不仅老旧还很脏。大卫翻看电视柜里面的录像带发现都是血腥的电影，但是定睛一看却发现电影里面的场景居然是他们入驻的房间，说明这个是一家以杀害旅客制作录像带的变态旅店，大卫两人已然成为这个恐怖真人秀的主角。
