节目组邀请的嘉宾横跨青中老三代的歌唱家，例如大家所熟知的腾格尔就是这个节目当中的一个嘉宾。节目开始之后，所有的嘉宾会在一起进行比拼，每个人都可以对自己喜欢的歌曲进行改编，可以唱自己的歌曲，也可以唱其他人的歌曲
节目采取的是现场打分制，一共有10个评委会根据选手的表现进行独特的打分，10个人的打分进行综合的评定之后得出来的最终评分就是选手的评分。节目组还有一个非常独特的环节，那就是返场，有些选手整体实力水平非常强，但是在某一场比赛当中表现并不是特别好，这时候观众可以发起网络投票，通过网络投票的形式，让某一个选手再次留下来进行返场表演。为观众带来全新的音乐盛宴，同时让观众感受到不一样的音乐故事。
