The story of "Population" is derived from the work of Frank Schetsing, and Set against the backdrop of global environmental issues, it combines the anomalous behavior of marine animals with the resulting chaos. The story takes place at the bottom of the North Sea, where millions of strange worms suddenly emerge, traversing layers of frozen methane and threatening the stability of the continental shelf. Huge swarms of mussels thwart the navigation of large ships, and poisonous jellyfish, lobsters and whales begin attacking humans along coasts around the world. Facing this global threat, scientists and the military are urgently assembled to tackle the greatest challenge facing mankind.

Chillingly, scientists have discovered that humans are not alone on Earth intelligent species. In the depths of the sea, there is a collective intelligence of creatures who have suffered from the destruction of human civilization and decided to fight back.
